What: Book Launch

When Patricia Ainslie, Chief Curator emerita of Calgary’s Glenbow Museum, moved to Kelowna, she knew some of the artists in the region by their international reputations. What surprised her was that the local community seemed less aware of their local artists’ fame than did the wider world. At the same time, on the national scene, people seemed not to recognize the strong concentration of artists in the Okanagan region.

As the book took shape. Ainslie chose to highlight 13 professional Canadian artists of great originality and imagination with well-established careers who live and work in the Okanagan.
