Record prices were set for 19th century Canadian Art in London, England this week. The Winkworth Collection, estimated at 2.5 million, took in more than 6.5 million at auction with one lot selling for more than half a million pounds. With this exciting news, Masters Gallery is pleased to announce the acquisition of a significant 19th and early 20th century Canadian masterwork collection. Artists include William Brymner, Cornelius Krieghoff, Paul Peel, William Armstrong, Thomas Mower Martin, Lucius O’Brien, Frederick Arthur Verner and Frederick Simpson Coburn among others. All works are from private collections and many have not been shown publicly for over 100 years.
